Hemp Oil for Pets

We have a lot in common with our furry little friends.  Did you know that dogs and cats have the same Endocannabinoid System (ECS) as we do?  The ECS regulates several processes in our pets’ bodies, including emotion, sleep, mood, appetite, and pain management.  We don’t think about it, but the ECS helps communication between our body and brain and those little receptors do the exact same thing in Fido’s body too.

We all understand that taking supplements in addition to diet and exercise can help improve our quality of life.  Introducing CBD oil as a supplement into your dog or cat’s diet can help kick-start their ECS.  With its anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety properties, CBD oil can assist in your pets’ overall health and wellness.

Here are just a few tips when looking to buy CBD for your furry little friends.

  • CBD oil will not get your pet high! Simply look for THC-Free products or products with third-party testing for verification.
  • CBD is considered safe & non-toxic!
  • A “whole plant” or “Full-Spectrum” extract may have better results.
  • Look for organic and pesticide-free CBD, because not all CBD is cultivated and farmed the same.
  • Start with small doses. You can always increase the dosage as needed.
  • Make sure you hide the CBD oil, or CBD infused treats. The last thing you want or need is to come home and find out that Fido ate the entire bag.  Remember, there is no known toxic dose of CBD and there have been no reports of any animals overdosing on CBD.
  • Many studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of CBD oil and have reported that side effects are minimal, even when high doses of CBD are administered.
    • Dry Mouth
    • Lowering of Blood Pressure
    • Drowsiness
    • Inhibition of Drug Metabolism

Research is still ongoing in the potential uses of CBD in medicine and veterinary medicine, however, the future of CBD has never looked brighter!
